VCC's Automotive Collision Repair Department offers upgrade training courses to collision & refinishing journey persons to help meet
their continued training requirements. These courses are offered partially or 100% online to extend training opportunities to technicians throughout the province of British Columbia.

Upgrade training partnership with ICBC
In January of 2004,
ICBC Material Damage Research and Training Centre (MDR&T) and Vancouver Community College (VCC) signed into an agreement to provide select ICBC Journey Person
Upgrade courses as distributed learning.ICBC MDR&T has been a hub of collision repair upgrade training in the province of British
Columbia since the early 1980's. Their extensive knowledge base, experience and commitment to the industry is providing current and future Collision Repair technicians with the very best in upgrade training opportunities, Current collaborations include online courses such as:
- Environmental Safety for Collision Repair (formally known as "Cleaning the Air'" - ICBC)
- Automotive Plastics Repair
The online version of these courses will help meet the needs of today's collision repair industry by offering technicians the ability to train on a flexible schedule from any location throughout the province. VCC is a leader in online training for the collision repair industry and will continue its proactive approach in all aspects of trades training. |

VCC's Centre for Transportation Trades has been meeting the training needs of industry since 1949. VCC has seven automotive training centres. They are: Auto Body Technician, Collision Repair Technician, Automotive Refinishing Technician, Refinishing Prep Technician, Automotive Service Technician, Heavy Duty Mechanic, and Commercial Transport Mechanic.
Vancouver Community College offers a wide variety of automotive collision repair training programs including autobody and automotive repair, autorefinishing, collision/refinishing red seal programs, autobody apprenticeship programs and everything else you need to know to repair, fix and refinish a car. The VCC automotive repair training program is the leading autobody training and career school in British Columbia. Our automotive training programs will teach you the skills necessary to build your automotive career. After completion of our automotive and autobody repair training programs, you will be qualified to work as an Auto Technician and an Autobody Painting Technician.
